Human Resources: HR 101 for Supervisors & Managers

This session is intended to support the development of supervisors and managers who may not have an HR background or who are new to managing others within their organization.  Supervisors and managers play a significant role in shaping the workplace culture and supporting the governance objectives of their community.

Participants will be provided with an overview of a First Nation’s accountability as an employer under both Federal and Provincial employment-related legislation.  For elected leaders who may be new to this role, the session will also provide some best practices for providing leadership in the oversight of the HR function.
