Band Manager Roles & Responsibilities

During this two day, hands-on workshop you will learn:

The Band Manager’s role is to oversee all operations of the First Nation.  Reporting to the Chief and Council, the Band Manager is responsible for the management, administration and delivery of all Band programs and services to ensure the needs of the Band Members are met in a reasonable, effective and efficient manner.

This workshop will cover 8 primary duties of the Band Manager:

  • Policy
  • Financial
  • Council
  • Staff
  • Government Relations
  • Community Relations
  • Planning
  • Practical Issues

 

Who should attend?

New or aspiring Band Managers (Administrators) can begin their journey to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence required to excel as a First Nation Band Manager.  This session is a first step to unleashing your leadership potential and understanding what it takes to become a trusted advocate for your community.  Experienced Band Managers would gain the opportunity to further develop and refine their leadership abilities.
